We Study Electrochemistry at Interfaces

Welcome to the Guo Research Group!
Electrochemical conversions driven by electricity from renewable sources are crucial for mitigating pressing environmental challenges. However, the activity, selectivity, and stability of most electrochemical conversions are yet to be optimized.

The Guo research group at Tulane Chemistry focuses on tuning and understanding the microenvironment around the interfaces between electrodes and electrolytes, which is the core component of electrochemical conversions. Leveraging our expertise in electrode and electrolyte design, electrochemical analytical tools, and in situ vibrational spectroscopy, we aim to precisely control and understand electrochemical interfaces at the molecular level. Eventually, our goal is to unlock new insights into environmentally important processes, such as the electrochemical conversion of atmospheric CO2 and nitrate pollutants to value-added products.
