About the PI

Wenxiao Guo

Prof. Wenxiao Guo
  • Postdoc, University of Wisconsin-Madison (2021 - 2024)

  • Ph.D.,  University of Florida, 2021

  • B.Sc., The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, 2014

Wenxiao Guo was born and grew up in Beijing, China. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree (first honor) in Chemical Technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2014. After working as a Research Associate for one year at PolyU, Wenxiao joined Prof. Wei David Wei’s group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida. In Wei's group, Wenxiao studied the properties and applications of plasmonic metal nanostructures.

After defending her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in the summer of 2021, Wenxiao joined the research group of Prof. Matthew Gebbie at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a postdoctoral associate. In Gebbie's group, she developed research on electrochemical catalysis using a combination of traditional electrochemical methods and surface-enhanced spectroscopic methods, with a particular focus on electrochemical reduction of CO2 in nonaqueous systems.

Wenxiao joined the Department of Chemistry at Tulane University in the Fall of 2024 as an Assistant Professor. She is excited about developing her future research program at the interface between electrochemistry, spectroscopy, and nanomaterials.
